BFF 🤠 ::: BIKES ~ FRIENDS ~ FRIDAYS

BFF is our weekly Friday ride that brings people together for an early morning roll out to start the day. We roll out from Rockridge Bart Station at 6:30 AM, alternating between climbing routes and flat rides to mix things up and keep it fresh. Whether you're looking to challenge yourself on the hills or enjoy a social spin with friends, BFF is all about enjoying each other’s company on two wheels. We finish each ride at Mother Tongue Cafe to enjoy coffee and pastries. Open to all who share a love of bikes, friends, and Friday mornings.

WXMNS RIDE

WMXNS Rides are AIR cc’s women-centered rides for women, non-binary, trans, and femme riders to feel seen, supported, and confident on the bike. These rides are rooted in community, safety, and empowerment—offering a welcoming space to build skills, make connections, and experience the joy of cycling together. These rides alternate between climbing and flat routes, typically run from 6:30–8:00 AM, and end with coffee and hangs to build community on and off the bike.

SAMA SAMA RIDE

‘Sama Sama’ is a phrase with roots in Tagalog and Bahasa, meaning ‘together, with one another or even you’re welcome.’ It carries the spirt of mutual respect, shared joy and community care. It’s a reflection of how we ride, build and belong. We also draw inspiration from our unofficial / official spirit animal: the Panda. Pandas symbolize balance, gentleness, and quiet strength but they’re also known for being playful, curious, silly and deeply committed to the art of snacking. 🐼
We host Sama Sama rides at least once a month - usually on Sundays. Each ride is led by one of our Sama Sama leads - trusted folks from our collective who design the route, theme and vibe.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. AIR welcomes riders of all experience levels. We offer a variety of rides, from beginner-friendly social rides to more challenging routes, and we do our best to clearly communicate the pace, distance, and difficulty of each ride beforehand.

  • As a collective we do not require membership to ride!

  • Most AIR rides are suitable for road bikes, gravel bikes, or hybrid bikes. Specific ride descriptions will indicate if a particular bike type is recommended, especially for gravel or mixed-surface routes.

  • Ride pace varies depending on the ride. Most rides are no drop with regroups. We ask everyone to download the route in advance.

  • We require a helmet and recommend water bottles, a spare tube or flat repair kit, a charged phone, and any nutrition you may need. Some rides may have planned coffee or food stops, but riders should come prepared to be self-sufficient.

  • AIR strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment. While some rides may regroup at designated points, riders are ultimately responsible for themselves and their equipment. We encourage everyone to review the route in advance and carry basic repair supplies. Fellow riders and ride leaders are happy to help when possible.
